Hunton Advises Virgin Atlantic in Sale and Leaseback Arrangements with AerCap Holdings
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP’s London finance team has assisted James Matthews, Head of Fleet at Virgin Atlantic, and the Virgin Atlantic team in the negotiation and documentation of sale and leaseback arrangements with AerCap Holdings with respect to six new Airbus A330-900 aircraft from Virgin’s open orderbook.
Virgin Atlantic General Counsel Julian Homerstone said: “Hunton provided clear, pragmatic and highly responsive advice throughout these sale and leaseback transactions. We are grateful for their support in helping the Virgin Atlantic team conclude these strategically important arrangements.”
The aircraft are scheduled to be delivered between Q2 2026 and Q4 2027. These modern and fuel-efficient aircraft will form part of Virgin Atlantic’s widebody fleet renewal, and later this year the airline will introduce larger premium and upper cabins, as well as more Retreat Suites.
The Hunton team was led by partner Richard Skipper and supported by associates John Hogg and Oliver Steele.
