Structured Finance Counsel Sherry Yeatts Returns to Hunton in Richmond
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that structured finance attorney Sherry Yeatts has rejoined the firm as a counsel in Richmond, Virginia.
Yeatts works with financial institutions, issuers, originators, and investors in connection with mortgage-backed and asset-backed securitizations and the purchase, sale, servicing, warehousing, and financing of mortgage loans, personal loans, and other financial assets.
She has significant experience developing, structuring, and negotiating structured vehicles and joint ventures across multiple asset classes, including corporate and commercial real estate loans. She represents issuers, underwriters, agents, servicers, and other investment vehicles in securitization transactions, asset-based finance, structured and secured lending, repurchase transactions, and conduit financing arrangements.
“Sherry is a talented lawyer and exceptional business problem solver. Her ability to structure, negotiate, lead, and close complex transactions—as well as her experience advising companies, executives, and investors on highly regulated financial products and business strategies—aligns perfectly with the needs of our clients and the strengths of our practice,” said Mike Nedzbala, co-head of the firm’s structured finance and securitization practice. “We are thrilled to welcome Sherry back to Hunton.”
Yeatts returns to Hunton after having served a combined four years as an assistant general counsel for an international bank holding company and in private practice with an international law firm.
In addition to her practice, Yeatts is committed to pro bono. Her endeavors include providing legal representation to individuals seeking asylum, screening cases for the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, and drafting wills for senior citizens.
Yeatts earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, receiving the Order of St. Ives as the top ten percent of her class.
